2022 Altcoin predictions
A Crypto. In the com report, the exchange’s research team predicts greater adoption in the cryptocurrency industry in 2022, led by one sector in particular. The stock market giant predicts that the number of international crypto users will “reach 1 billion by the end of 2022.” The report states:
Nations can no longer ignore the growing public interest in crypto. In most cases we can expect a friendlier stance towards the crypto industry. We expect developed countries to design clear legal and tax frameworks for crypto assets. In parallel, more countries facing a highly inflationary economy and depreciating currency may adopt cryptocurrency as their official medium of exchange, following the example of El Salvador.
The report also predicts cryptos will become a core element in traditional finance portfolios:
Crypto will be a fixture in the alternative asset class for investment portfolios. The first crypto ETFs released this year have been met with demand beyond their capacity, suggesting that more crypto instruments in the mainstream financial industry will follow soon. Traditional banks and financial institutions are seeking partnerships with crypto exchanges to integrate cryptocurrencies into their core services, from payments to transfers to investment.
The exchange’s research team expects mass crypto adoption to be fueled by the acceleration of one crypto industry in particular: NFTs, blockchain games, and the metaverse. According to the report:
The Metaverse grew exponentially in 2021, paving the way for evolution in online culture through NFTs, games, and online identities. We anticipate that GameFi/Play-to-Earn will be one of the main tools for the mass transformation into the crypto space, where traditional game studios compete to incorporate these elements into their existing lineups.
