The 2023 increase rate for private schools was determined as 65 percent. Last year, the rate of increase was limited to 36 percent.
The rate of increase for private schools in 2023 has been finalized. Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said in a statement after meeting with private school representatives today that they have changed the method of determining the rate of increase. Özer said, “We have decided to base it on CPI instead of PPI,” and then announced that the rate of increase for private schools for 2023-2024 is 65 percent. Özer stated that the decision will be implemented as of tomorrow.
According to the regulation, the rate of increase for intermediate classes was calculated by adding plus/minus 5 to the average of the previous year’s average Domestic PPI and CPI rates. According to this formula, the highest rate of increase could be 105 percent this year.
Last year, the increase rate was limited to 36 percent.
