Electronic music producer Deadmau5 and rock band Portugal. The Man is releasing their next single on the NFT platform, not on streaming platforms.
The artists’ newest song “This is fine”, a 1 million NFT collection on the Mintbase NFT market based on the Near blockchain, is on sale.
Approximately 250,000 of these NFTs will be sold at Miami’s Art Basel festival for $1.29 per piece. The remaining NFTs will be sold as a mix of single and combined units and come with additional rewards yet to be announced.
In the music industry dominated by platforms such as Apple Music and Spotify, artists began to prefer NFTs instead of these streaming services.
Deadmau5 has been involved in a number of crypto-related projects lately, supporting a physical NFT as well as a music streaming DAO with artist Gregory Siff at the Colorado music festival in November.
