The European Central Bank has appointed 30 members to its new digital euro advisory group.
The European Central Bank (ECB) continues its work on the digital euro. In this context, the ECB announced that it has appointed 30 members to the ‘Digital Euro Market Advisory Group’. Members will advise the Eurosystem, the monetary authority of the eurozone, on the process of designing and deploying a possible digital euro. The ECB has said in recent months that an advisory group will consider users’ and distributors’ views on the digital euro.
The group includes top professionals from organizations such as BBVA, Deutsche Bank AG, Société Générale, European Payments Council, Stripe and IKEA.
The institution started its research on the digital euro last July. The research is expected to last 24 months and will address key issues related to the design and distribution of the digital euro.
