Musician and producer Timbaland continues his NFT moves.
Timbaland has launched Ape-In Productions, which will create music and animation around Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT avatars. Alongside their first NFT collection, the company will release their first single from a virtual hip-hop group called TheZoo next week.
The move comes a day after Universal Music Group announced its plans to create a virtual metaverse group based on a group of characters from the Bored Ape Yacht Club collection. Ape-In will work with a number of Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT owners and other collaborators.
The company’s first venture is a hip-hop group called TheZoo, which will be released alongside the NFT collection on November 17, with their debut song “ApeSh!t”, which Timbaland produced. Timbaland used the following statements in a statement to Variety:
The initiative aims to leverage NFT collections further to provide exclusive access and premium experiences for owners. Production studio BRON Digital will create an animated series and virtual concerts for Ape-In.
The Ethereum-based Bored Ape Yacht Club is one of the most popular NFT avatar collections on the market, generating more than $1 billion in total trading volume to date across its three collections that have been released since the end of April. Many famous names such as Timbaland, Jimmy Fallon, NBA player Stephen Curry and billionaire investor Mark Cuban own the Bored Ape collection NFT.
