Ranked 13th by market cap, the native MATIC token of popular altcoin Polygon has pushed LINK from this honorable position to become the most traded token among the top 1,000 Ethereum whales, according to analytical data shared by the WhaleStats blockchain platform. MATIC became the fourth cryptocurrency purchased. In the last 24 hours, MATIC became the fourth most bought cryptocurrency, with LINK following it. Ethereum is in first place here, with USDC and USDT stablecoins honoring second and third places. Recently, MATIC proved to be one of the most popular altcoins among whales along with SHIB, LINK and FTX token.
The whales are stocking up on MATIC in bulk. Over the weekend, the entire cryptocurrency market was in decline as some of the biggest Ethereum holders bought large amounts of FTX, MATIC, and LINK. On Saturday, January 8th, the top 1,000 ETH whales purchased a total of 7,275,966 MATIC tokens in three transactions – equating to a total of $15,144,497.
