Lotte World Adventure, one of South Korea’s most popular amusement parks, will use Naver’s Zepeto Metaverse.
Lotte World Adventure will also open “Magic Island” in the open air section of the park. This episode was built on the Zepeto metaverse. After entering the Lotte World map in the Zepeto app, users will be able to experience attractions such as the iconic Magic Castle and the exciting Gyro Drop, the Atlantis Adventure roller coaster. The opening of Lotte World Metaverse will be Halloween themed, with zombies, avatars roaming around the Map and greeting visitors.
Lotte World said the following on the subject;
Launched in 2018 by Korea’s internet giant Naver, Zepeto currently has more than 200 million users worldwide focused on youth. It has collaborated with various global brands to diversify their user content, such as Disney, Gucci, Nike, Hello Kitty and others.
Meanwhile, South Korea’s Ministry of Economy and Finance has identified Metaverse as one of the five new industries of the future with growth potential and high market demand, along with blockchain, smart robots, cloud computing technology and digital healthcare. Interest in the Metaverse is also growing, with financial firms in Korea, Samsung Asset Management and KB Asset Management recently releasing Metaverse exchange-traded funds (ETFs).
