The famous Russian ballerina Natalia Osipova’s new Bonhams auction “Encore! The NFT of his three-part dance is up for sale, to be sold on the Modern Art on Stage.
The sale will be a world first. Collectors and ballet fans will be able to have a ballet performance for the first time in NFT format.
Buyers will be given a full license of the works. This means they own the entire video, have the right to use or view it however they want.
Head of Digital Art Nima Sagharchi said the following on the subject;
“It is our pleasure to present these three outstanding works performed by Natalia Osipova. Ballet is one of the most refined and moving art forms. We are able to crystallize unique performances through NFTs. We can have things that are abstract and collect them. ”

Blockchain technology could be revolutionary for the dance world. It can propel performance art into a new era of digital performance and ownership, as it has done in the visual art market.
Osipova will dance to two pieces from the classical ballet “Giselle” and one piece from “Left Behind”. The auction will run from 29 November to 10 December, with prices starting at £12,000 for “Giselle” and £50,000 for “Left Behind”.
Ballerina Osipova shared her thoughts on the subject;
“It is an honor to release the world’s first ballet NFTs and I hope this will pave the way for the next generation of dancers to connect with their supporters on the digital stage. The NFT collection will be sold at Bonhams, along with theater, ballet, dance, musical costumes, stage designs, paintings, paper, sculpture, prints, books and manuscripts from the 1960s to the present.
