British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said it was “not certain” that inflation would slow this year, arguing that there was a need to continue to limit wages in the ongoing negotiations.
Expressing that it is necessary to follow a responsible economic policy in matters such as wages in order to bring inflation down, Sunak said, “It is not certain that inflation will decrease. We need to continue to be disciplined and take the right and responsible decisions.”
Expressing that curbing the increase in prices is his first priority, Sunak said that for this reason, he resisted the demands for large wage increases in the public sector and that these increases could further fuel inflation.
