The US House of Representatives Financial Services Committee will listen to the CEOs of crypto companies on Dec.
Committee Chair Maxine Waters, a crypto critic, announced that CEOs from six major crypto companies will speak at the December 8 session of the House of Representatives Financial Services Committee. Testimony at the session titled “Digital Assets and the Future of Finance: Understanding the Challenges and Benefits of Financial Innovation in the United States” will include FTX’s Sam Bankman-Fried, Circle’s Jeremy Allaire, Bitfury’s Brian Brooks, Paxos’ Charles Cascarilla Denelle Dixon of the Stellar Development Foundation and Coinbase Inc. CEO Bankman-Fried has said in recent months that tighter regulation of crypto-asset trading platforms will have positive implications for investors. Brooks, who took over the CEO of the mining company Bitfury, assumed the presidency of the OCC from May 2020 to January 2021. Brooks also briefly served as the CEO of the US arm of crypto-asset trading Binance.
