TikTok is one of the most successful social media applications of recent times. Although it has not been as long as its competitors, the Chinese social media giant, which has managed to reach the 1 billion user limit, is on the agenda with the scandals and the results of these scandals, rather than the successes it has recently achieved.
Finally, according to an information that emerged recently, it was claimed that TikTok’s parent company ByteDance was following various journalists through some employees, and ByteDance, which made a statement on these allegations, announced that the situation in question was an isolated incident and that the employees were immediately fired from the company.
Although ByteDance has announced that this incident is not related to him, this espionage incident has reduced the trust in the company and its most popular brand, TikTok. A US senator, who used this situation as an opportunity, presented the bill that prohibits the use of TikTok on phones and devices given to its employees by the state to the Senate and made this bill into law.
According to this law, TikTok can no longer be used on phones and computers given to government employees for business. Of course, this was interpreted as another attempt by TikTok to step by step towards the inevitable end, namely, its complete ban in the USA. Let’s see if the next move will really be to ban the app across the country.
