Bitcoin miners had to leave the country after the trouble they experienced in China, and there was a great decrease in the Bitcoin hash rate.
BitMEX Research notes that due to the ongoing anti-government protests in Kazakhstan, there may be a new problem in mining activities.
Thousands of protesters took to the streets in response to rising gas prices, and a state of emergency was declared across the country. Today, protests have turned into acts of violence, with demonstrators attacking the mayor’s office in the country’s capital, Almaty.
According to NetBlocks data, there is a nationwide internet outage in Kazakhstan due to the protests.
After China’s pressure on miners, the leadership in the global hash rate is 42%. It was transferred to the USA with a rate of 7. Kazakhstan also ranks second with 21.9%.
Although the arrival of miners in the country caused power cuts, the country’s energy minister, Magzum Mirzagaliyev, announced that electricity would not be restricted to those who mined legally.
However, given the tense environment in the country, it seems likely that miners will face a new challenge.
