Chris Lund, head of community and partnerships at Portals, said, “Binance. “US is gaining a foothold in Portals Downtown by focusing on delivering the latest news, graphics and events virtually.” Lund is FTX, the US arm of crypto exchange FTX. He also said that the US will set up its own office in Portals. Companies are rushing to open metaverses like The Sandbox and Decentraland, both of which are based on Ethereum. Portals seems to be a favorite for catching the metaverse craze on the high-speed Solana Blockchain.
Binance. US spokesperson Zachary Tindall said the virtual structure should be a meeting place for exchange users. Tindall said, “Binance. “We are creating a space in the metaverse for the US community to come together.” Lund; Raydium said Magic Eden, Audius, Bonfida, and other Solana projects will also exist in the Portals metaverse. Metaverses often describe a virtual world in which people can interact as they would in the real world, but digitally.
Traditional companies began to step into the metaverse last year. Social media giant Facebook has undergone a major rebrand and rebranded itself as Meta in a broader effort to lead metaverse-based apps. It’s unclear how Facebook’s metaverse effort will interact with existing open metaverses.
