In the 95th run of the famous parade, an NFT collection will be made in partnership with the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade moves towards blockchain.
The company said in a statement that the store is releasing a series of parade-themed NFTs on Thanksgiving Day, November 25, and donate the proceeds to charities.
9. This 500 NFT collection will be available on the NFT marketplace on Sweet’s Polygon blockchain. NFTs will be printed free of charge and 10% of the profits will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
The parade’s giant balloons from the 1920s will make up some of the NFTs. Macy’s will additionally auction 10 “Ultra Rare” NFTs one by one between November 19 and November 30. The entirety of this auction will be donated to Make-A-Wish.
The parade will begin at 9 a.m. ET on Thanksgiving and will be broadcast live by NBC.
