Famous NBA player Shaquille O’Neal donated $2 million from his NFT collection sale to charity to benefit children in need.
Former Los Angeles Lakers star, four-time NBA champion, TNT analyst, former rapper, movie star, and entrepreneur O’Neal has used NFTs for charity. O’Neal worked with NFT marketplace Notables last month on Shaq Gives Back.
According to the Shaq Foundation’s website, the foundation partners with clubs and communities in Schools to support programs and projects nationwide targeting underserved youth.
NFT collection contains 10,000 rare tokens featuring various costumes and funny facial expressions of the NBA legend. The collection reportedly raised $1 million for Shaq’s foundation in one day. Before Christmas, O’Neal increased the amount to $1.5 million, prompting philanthropists to continue helping. A short time later, $2 million was recovered from the collection.
