According to HaberTürk, the information obtained by an AA correspondent shows that Binance, the world’s largest trading platform, was fined 8 million liras. It was learned that the institution was fined 8 million Turkish lira, which is the upper limit, regarding the violations detected during the inspections carried out by the Financial Crimes Investigation Board (MASAK). This was the first penalty in the field.
The penalty was imposed on the violations detected by MASAK during the liability inspection carried out within the scope of the Law on the Prevention of Laundering Proceeds of Crime. As we have mentioned before, crypto asset service providers were included in the scope of MASAK with a regulation published in the Official Gazette on May 1.
