A survey by World Economics showed that the business confidence index in China fell to its lowest level since January 2013 due to the negative impact of rising COVID-19 cases on economic activity.
Business confidence index in China fell to 48.1 points in December from 51.8 points in November, according to a World Economics survey of sales managers. The survey was conducted between 1-16 December with the participation of 2300 sales managers.
“The survey strongly indicated that the growth rate in the Chinese economy has weakened quite dramatically and may go into recession in 2023,” World Economics said in its assessment.
