El Salvador President Nayib Bukele shared some of his predictions about Bitcoin for the new year on Twitter. Bukele is confident that at least two countries will follow El Salvador by legalizing the largest cryptocurrency.
In October, BitMEX CEO Alexander Höptner also shared an even more optimistic forecast, claiming that as many as five developing countries will embrace Bitcoin due to inflation concerns and high remittance costs.

As it is known, El Salvador paved the way for “hyperbitcoinization” by accepting Bitcoin as its official currency in early September. In November, Bukele announced that it has partnered with government blockchain infrastructure firm Blockstream to issue $1 billion worth of Bitcoin bonds. A portion of the proceeds will be used for the first Bitcoin city to be built near the Conchagua volcano.
Lastly, Bukele predicted that the government will begin construction of the city this year and that volcanic bonds will see excessive demand. Bukele also said that Bitcoin will stand out as an important issue in the US elections this year. The President also stated that there will be a big surprise at the Bitcoin conference to be held in April 2022.
100. $ 000 Target
Bukele also claimed that the world’s largest cryptocurrency will surpass $100,000 by 2022. As previously reported, Fundstrat analyst Tom Lee also mentioned that the leading cryptocurrency could rise above the above-mentioned level this year, or even climb up to $200,000.
Cryptocurrency boss Brock Pierce also recently said that the price of Bitcoin could exceed $200,000 this year.
