Journalist Alican Uludağ, in his social media posts, announced that the number of detentions in the murder of Sinan Ateş increased to 5, and that the MHP connection in the murder was detected for the first time.
It is stated that the number of those taken into custody increased to 5 after the former President of the Ülkü Ocakları Sinan Ateş was killed in an armed attack in Ankara.
Journalist Alican Uludağ shared on his Twitter account about those whose names were mentioned in the murder.
“The connection of Ülkü Ocakları/MHP in the murder was detected for the first time”
Accordingly, Doğukan Çep, one of the prominent figures in the murder, was released while he was being detained in the Hasan Ferit Gedik case, who was killed in Istanbul Gülsuyu. An arrest warrant was issued for Çep later.
Uludağ stated that “the connection of Ülkü Ocakları/MHP was detected for the first time in the murder” and that former Ülkü Ocakları Maltepe Branch manager Ufuk Köktürk was taken into custody in this context.
The shares of Uludağ are as follows:
“In the investigation into the murder of former Ülkü Ocakları President Sinan Ateş, important information and connections began to emerge. It is stated that the number of detentions has increased to 5. The Murder Bureau determined that the shooters had arrived in Ankara from Istanbul.
The names Eray Özyağcı and Doğukan Çep stand out in the murder. Özyağcı, who allegedly pulled the trigger, was on the run and could not be caught. It is stated that Doğukan Çep, who used the motorcycle, was detained. In addition, the name of a suspect named Suat Kurt from Istanbul was identified.
Doğukan Çep is an important name. He was on trial in the case of the murder of Hasan Ferit Gedik, who was killed by drug gangs in Maltepe Gülsuyu. He was released in 2015. He was sentenced to 35 years and 4 months in prison in 2018.
An arrest warrant was issued for Doğukan Çep along with the sentence, but he could not be caught. He has been on the run since then, but came forward for the murder of Sinan Ateş. Çep, which was used in Gülsuyu yesterday, has been subcontracted today in the case of Sinan Ateş.
Doğukan Çep and Eray Özyağcı are alleged to be involved in the criminal organization founded by Doğukan Yardak, nicknamed Dado. Yardak, which operates in Maltepe-Gülsuyu, is thought to have fled abroad. The real question is, whose subcontractors are these people?
The Ülkü Ocakları/MHP connection in the murder was detected for the first time. In this context, former Ülkü Ocakları Maltepe Branch manager Ufuk Köktürk was detained. A pistol, 2 magazines and 23 cartridges of this weapon were seized in Köktürk’s house. The suspect named MY is wanted.
Ufuk Köktürk’s name is mentioned in the list of “MHP Istanbul Provincial Board of Directors”. However, there is no detailed information about his position in the management. There is no confirmed information about Köktürk’s role in the incident. It is unknown for now whether the incident extends to other administrators within the MHP organization.
There are two important arguments about the motive of the murder. The first is retaliation against the Mersin incident. Secondly, the perception within the MHP that Sinan Ateş has been in contact with the Iyi Parti recently, and therefore, it is desired to teach him a “lesson”.
It is even claimed that the order for the murder went in the form of shooting Sinan Ateş in the legs. However, there is a claim that the death event was not in the account. However, it may also be a defense plot to get the suspects less punishment.
The Ankara Police Department and the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office now have an important role to play in the investigation. All links should be uncovered without any fear of “political pressure”. The state should illuminate all aspects of a political murder.”
