Although Microsoft has become one of the biggest technology brands in the world thanks to the Windows operating system, it is a fact that the American technology giant has now become a superpower independent of Windows. However, since the company has no intention of being content with this, it has been struggling to make an effective entry into the game industry for a long time. In this context, Microsoft, which caught the eye of the famous game company Activision Blizzard, also sacrificed 69 billion dollars to buy this company.
However, despite the fact that a lot of time has passed since the said proposal and the parties have agreed on everything, this union cannot come to an end.
Microsoft’s Activision acquisition turns into a snake story
The reason for this situation is that many competitors, especially Sony, oppose this purchase process. In fact, the US Federal Trade Commission recently finished its investigations and went to court with the thought that this purchase would adversely affect competition in the sector.
Here, Microsoft, which is dealing with its rivals on the one hand and the decisions of the Federal Trade Commission on the other, now has players. According to the event that took place in the United States, a group of 10 players filed a lawsuit against the company, arguing that Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard would end the competition in the game market, and this situation is against US laws. Of course, how scary this latest case would be for Microsoft, which is dealing with such big companies, is debatable, but there is a fact that Activision Blizzard does not seem to be good for Microsoft.
