Both features were brought up by Elon Musk last month when he said that Blue subscribers who pay $8 a month will get “priority in replies, mentions, and search” and the privilege to post longer videos.
Reply priority is now officially available, according to the statement on the support page that “this feature prioritizes your replies on Tweets you interact with.” It is not yet clear whether users paying $8 per month will always appear at the top of replies.
Twitter support has previously claimed that priority rankings will “help reduce the visibility of scams, spam, and bots.” But some users are raising concerns that the new system will reduce the user experience for non-paying users or that paid priority could help spammers, trolls, and others bolster their messages.
New features come to Twitter Blue
The new video feature, on the other hand, will continue to apply to Android and iOS users on the web only, the 10-minute rule, which will increase the length from 512MB to 1080p resolution to 60 minutes and 2GB. Twitter also states that it or its partners may modify original videos for distribution, syndication, broadcast or broadcast, or the bitrate/resolution may change depending on the viewer’s internet speeds.
Stating that it could even beat the 55% cut that YouTube offers, Musk also said that Twitter will eventually pay content creators for uploaded videos. However, it was not specified whether this would be done through advertisements or by other means. It’s also still unclear how it might resolve piracy issues as most of the moderation team have been fired or resigned.
