Oppo is one of the important names in the smartphone world. The third quarter of 2023 did not go well for the company, which managed to grab a share from both Samsung and its compatriot Xiaomi, especially with its price-performance products. According to the statement made by the famous research and analysis platform Counterpoint, the Chinese company, which can sell significantly less smartphones in the third quarter of the year compared to the previous similar period, wants to fix this situation in the next quarter.
Knowing that it is not enough to produce a more powerful smartphone in order to increase its share in the smartphone market, Oppo also wants to improve itself in software. Taking an important step in this context, the Chinese company promised to update some of the smartphone models that it will launch as of January 1, 2023, with ColorOS for 4 years and a security package update for 5 years.
Update move from Oppo! Now let the opponents think!
However, we need to draw attention to two important issues here. Although Oppo has promised to update ColorOS for 4 years for its users, it should be noted that this promise does not cover the promise that new versions of Android will be brought. So Oppo does not promise to switch to the new Android version with the new ColorOS version.
On the other hand, as it is underlined with thick lines in the statement made by Oppo, this promise will only be valid for some models, and it would not be a prophecy to say that those models will be flagship models.
