A hacker stole 16 NFTs worth approximately 593 ETH through an obvious phishing scam. Recent attacks on NFT coins and projects have been intensifying since the first weeks of December, with owners sharing their losses reaching dozens of ETH. Here are the details of the latest attack…
NFT collector targeted by phishing attack
Toddkramer is a New York-based art curator and NFT collector. eth reported on Twitter that 16 of its rewarded tokens were stolen today in a phishing attack. The collector was hacked after clicking on a phishing contract disguised as a real NFT dApp and authorizing the contract to spend tokens on his behalf. While the hacker has successfully sold several stolen NFTs on OpenSea, others have been frozen by the platform at Kramer’s request and can be returned to him.

There have been a series of attacks on NFT coin collectors this month
Last week, a user from AhChooo reported that he was scammed from two NFTs, Mutant Ape and Cool Cat. Then on Sunday, another NFT investor, bergpay. eth shared on Twitter that someone has transferred 5 Jungle Freaks NFTs from their wallets with a total value of 1.3 ETH at current base prices. In December, there were other cases where Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT collectors made costly mistakes. An NFT owner made the mistake of selling a $300,000 Bored Ape NFT for just $3,000. Another NFT owner accidentally transferred Bored Ape to a derivative project he didn’t know about.
