Auction house Sotheby’s is holding an NFT charity auction to support healthcare workers.
Preparing to host one of the most influential NFT charity auctions ever, Sotheby’s is working with Sostento, a public health advocate and non-profit organization, on the “Gifted The 140 Collection” NFTs.

The auction “The 140 Collection” is inspired by Twitter; The social media giant tweeted “140 free NFTs for 140 people” in June and gave free NFTs to 140 lucky people.
In collaboration with Sostento, Sotheby’s leverages the social media giant’s digital artifacts to support one of its most valuable professions, highlighting the growing importance of NFTs in cultural moments and events.
“Will Be The Biggest NFT Aid Auction Ever”
Much like the original collection, ‘Gifted’ includes seven unique NFTs of 20 editions and has been called “the largest NFT charity auction ever” by Sotheby’s.
The collection consists of an array of creative content highlighting the Twitter community and the platform’s unique culture, illustrating many aspects of Twitter, from the early designs of the Twitter logo to its old 140-character limit. The proceeds will be donated to Sostento, an organization that supports healthcare workers.
The auction will run through ‘Sotheby’s Metaverse’ until November 30.
